Birthday Smash fun – with cake or watermelon!
What is a cake smash?
A cake smash photo shoot is perfect for a birthday celebration – normally for children turning one or two. We can also do these with watermelon or fruit instead of the cake!
We set up a beautiful coloured background with some accessories and have props like the large ONE letters too. We get some lovey images of them clean at the start of the session and then we let them have the freshly baked cake (or fruit)!
The cake bit is pure fun and mess – we let them have some fun and play with lovely cake and icing and use some much loved wooden spoons! They do of course enjoy tasting it too and parents are welcome to get involved and help with the mess or eating too!
At the end we offer a lovely warm bubble bath for cleaning up and of course more bubbly photos.
All Sessions Include:
- Coloured set up of your choice
- Cake for smashing
- Photos taken with ONE prop and clean before the cake
- Sibling images too
- Bubble bath at the end of the session
- 1.5 Hour session
When should I book my session?
We always suggest booking early to ensure we are available on your chosen date. We take the £50 session fee to get you booked in and we can confirm colours or themes nearer to the appointment.
We are often asked whether it should be done on the the actual birthday, well, this one is up to you. We have done it before the birthday (ideally 2 weeks before if you want images in time for the big day!), we’ve celebrated with them on their actual birthday and we’ve done them a few weeks after the birthday so you can do the cake smash photoshoot whenever works best for you.
What are the colour choices?
We have options for the background colour like Blue, Pink & Cream. We do also have Navy Blue and Grey available too.
We then accessorise with accent colours and themes of your choice. Coloured bunting and balloons are included as these are our standard choices.
If you prefer to theme your cake smash with specific styles we would love to help make it unique for you. We have various upgrade options to add themed bunting and balloons and even balloon arches – you can also bring along extra items to add if you wish. Options start at just £25 so please get in touch for more information.

What happens after the session?
One week after your session you will receive an email with a link to your secure online gallery.All images will be available to download in full resolution.
We always suggest making multiple copies of these.
